Horses of Hoofprint Bay: Buying Horses

Buy a second horse from the breeder in town, and know why stable space and cash come first.

The CUTEST Horse Game Ever! || Horses of Hoofprint Bay || OFFICIAL RELEASE
To add another horse, buy it from the breeder in town rather than from your own yard. One launch-period player planned a second purchase this way so both horses could live at their stable, but chose to delay it until the yard was ready.
Before you buy
- Make room first. In one playthrough, the field upgrade took two days to finish. Check the build time in your save instead of expecting instant space. The same player bought a field before a second horse specifically to avoid crowding multiple horses into one paddock.
- Check your cash. Early play is tight. In one session the player had $380 and chose a field over a parking lot (which they said would enable competitions). Another session left them broke after a $200 trailer purchase.
- Line up income. In the footage, the player gave lessons and entered a show (98% accuracy) before returning to the breeder plan. Lessons and competitions can help fund a purchase.
Where the breeder fits
The official store description frames the loop as turning a run-down yard into a stud farm, with prize money from competitions (Steam store page). The publisher's announcement describes earning money through show jumping, riding lessons, and selling home-bred yearlings (The Mane Quest announcement). Breeding is the long-term route to more horses; the breeder is the direct purchase route.
Version note
The buying footage comes from launch-period playthroughs; the game released November 4, 2026 (Steam store page). The demo is capped at 25 in-game days while the full game has unlimited days, so demo-era economy advice may not match the release build.
