Welcoming New Arrivals to the Stable! | Horses of Hoofprint Bay [DEMO]
The medium competition is a show-jumping class in Horses of Hoofprint Bay. To place well, build your horse's endurance so it can hold a faster pace, then ride the course at speed without fumbling the approaches. This guide uses demo footage; its course behavior and numbers may differ from the full release.
What the medium class asks of you
The core skill is taking jumps at a gallop rather than a canter. In one demo run, the horse could not gallop the whole course and had to ease off through the middle section. That run still produced a well-trained horse result, but the footage does not show how that result translates into scoring.
Endurance is the stat to train
Strength and endurance both matter, but endurance is what lets you sustain pace. In one demo session, a horse had strength nearly maxed while endurance lagged behind. Another player found a higher base strength (81 versus 75) helpful when qualifying for medium. If endurance is your weak stat, train it before entering.
Qualifying and entering
Demo players describe needing to win the low competition to reach the medium tier. One player also found that winning the medium class made a horse overqualified and unable to re-enter the lower competition.
Reading the field
Medium results depend partly on the NPC horses you draw. The class can be quite difficult, depending on whether you get strong or weak NPCs, so aim for a top-three finish rather than assuming a win.
A note on the 90 strength / 80 endurance goal
One demo playthrough listed an ambition to own a horse trained to at least 90 strength and 80 endurance, breed a foal, and win the medium competition. That is a player's stated goal in the demo, not a confirmed requirement for entering or winning the medium class. Do not treat those numbers as a hard unlock threshold.
For the wider competition structure, see the Competition Guide. If your horse struggles with nerves on course, the Confidence Training guide may help.
