Reviewed: · Hoofprint Bay Wiki editors

Horses of Hoofprint Bay launched November 4, 2026 on Steam for Windows and Linux. Here's what released, what the demo covers, and what's not confirmed.

Horses of Hoofprint Bay is out now. The full game released on November 4, 2026 for PC via Steam, developed by Thogli Studios and published by The Mane Quest. It is a hand-drawn 2D stable management and riding game, and the store page lists Windows and Linux (SteamOS/Ubuntu) support.

If you're deciding whether to buy, start with the free demo on Steam, but expect demo balance and progression to differ from the released game. If you're upgrading from an older demo, check the save compatibility note below before investing time in a run.

Don't confuse the demo date with the release date

The free demo launched February 16, 2026, months before the full game. An updated demo ran during Steam Next Fest (October 19–26, 2026). The demo is capped at 25 in-game days; the full game has unlimited in-game days.

Save compatibility depends on which demo you played:

  • February demo saves were not made compatible with the full game.
  • October demo saves were stated to carry over to the full release.

The February demo remains accessible through a separate Steam beta branch, and both demos stay available after launch.

What's in the full game

The core loop: start with a run-down stable, care for and train horses, compete in show jumping and cross country for prize money, breed foals, hire staff, and upgrade buildings. Pre-release developer updates also described Prestige as a progress measure, horse personality traits, desensitization training, and cross country as a third competition discipline. An in-game library covers equestrian knowledge.

Platforms and ports

Only Windows and Linux are listed as supported on Steam. There is no confirmed Mac, console, or mobile version or date. Treat any port timeline you see elsewhere as unverified.
